Jeffry Farrell

Jeffry Farrell teaches yoga as a creative process—an exploration of breath, movement, and awareness. His practice is both functional and playful, renewing commitment daily. The goal is not to achieve the perfect posture but to use posture as a vessel for breath, addressing the whole person—body, mind, emotions, and soul.

Through this practice, we unlock breath and the habits of the nervous system, discovering stillness, strength, balance, alignment, coordination, and self-awareness. Sometimes, we even juggle.

Grounded in breath, the practice fosters unified strength, alignment, balance, and coordination. It is a union of breath, attention, and body, blending active and meditative forms. Jeffry’s mission is to guide individuals toward greater presence, function, decision, and agency. His desire for you is to free the subtle voice of inspiration and action from the conditions and habits of the body.

Wholeness, health, self-mastery, and a deeper sense of availability emerge through the practice. While many experience immediate benefits, long-term transformation requires a persistent, undistressed, and vigilant practice.

Jeffry works with individuals of all ages and conditions—everyday people, performers, creators, athletes, and martial artists. He teaches biomechanics, pranic delivery, discipline, and play, helping students unlock their full potential.

Journey and Experience

Jeffry’s yoga journey began over 45 years ago through the Vedanta Center of St. Louis and Washington University. This lifelong path led him to Rishikesh, India, where he delivered the ashes of his beloved teacher into the Ganges River.

He founded Park Cities Yoga in January 2000, which thrived until the tornado of 2019. Since then, he has continued to share his teachings in person across North Texas and online through YogaMasalaWithJeffryFarrell.locals.com.

His ongoing education in somatic wisdom integrates formal studies in Literature and Biology at Washington University, an M.A. from UT Dallas, postgraduate studies at Yale University’s Teachers Institute, and the École Lecoq in Paris.
Jeffry’s practice has been profoundly influenced by his mentor, Kumar Pallana, and his studies with various schools and teachers, including:
  • Jiva Mukti and Dharma Mittra
  • Nada Practices and the Bihar School
  • Therapeutic Yoga with T.K.V. Desikachar and Gary Kraftsow
  • Yoga Nidra, Pilates, Alexander Technique, and Feldenkrais Method
  • Linklater Voice Training and performance-based movement practices
These diverse influences have shaped his unique approach—blending tradition, breath, movement, and mindfulness into a practical and transformative yoga practice.

Personal Teaching Philosophy

Jeffry teaches the yoga of "No Problems." Of course, even the swamis get headaches—but through breath, posture, and awareness, we find balance.

His teaching is not a commercialized style. It is yoga for breath and life force, for body and mind, for awakening the teacher within you.
  • The breath is a teacher
  • The posture is a teacher
  • Pain, when approached with awareness, is an honest teacher
  • Nature is a grand teacher
  • Books teach best when you read between the lines
Through the Eight Limbs of Classical Practice, Jeffry helps students cultivate inner wisdom and embodied presence—in their practice, their relationships, and their daily lives.
